Brief

Julia Crimmen has built an exceptional reputation for her beautifully handcrafted ceramics, with a loyal customer base, thriving online sales and a distinctive brand inspired by the Cornish landscape.
The existing website had served the business well, but as the brand evolved, it was time for the digital experience to evolve with it. Our role wasn’t to reinvent the business-it was to refine it. To take everything that already worked and make it work even better.

The Challenge

Julia Crimmen already had a successful online presence and a recognisable style that collectors and customers loved. The challenge was preserving that identity while creating a website that felt more premium, was easier to navigate and encouraged visitors to browse, engage and ultimately purchase.

For an artist, every detail matters. The website needed to reflect the same craftsmanship, simplicity and attention to detail found in every piece that leaves the studio. It also needed to make shopping effortless, showcase the collections more effectively and reinforce the quality of the brand from the very first click.

Our Approach

Rather than starting from scratch, we carefully evolved the existing website.

We refined the visual design, improved the user experience and simplified the customer journey throughout the online shop. Every page was considered, every interaction streamlined and every design decision made with one objective in mind – allowing Julia’s ceramics to take centre stage.

The new layout gives products room to breathe, improves navigation between collections and creates a more immersive browsing experience. We also ensured the website performs beautifully across desktop, tablet and mobile, making it easier than ever for customers to discover and purchase Julia’s work wherever they are.

Behind the scenes, the website was optimised for search engines, making it easier for new customers to discover the business organically while maintaining a fast, reliable shopping experience.
